Mission 3 — Expansion
Install your first skill and understand how Claude can learn to do new things on demand.
You already installed Claude Code. You already connected Terminal Church. Now it's time to expand what it knows how to do.
That's what a skill does.
What is a skill
Think of it this way: Claude Code by default is intelligent but generic. It doesn't know how you prefer to work, what tools you use, or what the context of your project is.
A skill is like giving it a specific instruction manual. You install it once and from then on, it follows those instructions automatically whenever you call it.
Examples of what skills do:
- Search the internet in a structured way
- Review texts in your voice
- Create social media posts following your style
- Organize tasks in a specific way
Installing your first skill
In the terminal with Claude Code open, say:
install the Terminal Church research skill
Claude will find and install it. When done, you'll see a confirmation.
Testing
Now say:
/pesquisa what is Claude Code
The /pesquisa is a slash command — a quick way to call a specific skill. Claude will do a structured search instead of just answering from what it knows.
Notice the difference. That's a skill in action.
How to find more skills
Terminal Church has a marketplace of skills created by the community. To explore:
show me the available skills in the Terminal Church marketplace
Every skill in the marketplace was created and tested by real heretics.
Mission proof
Post a showcase on the wall telling which skill you installed and what it did differently. That earns 75 XP.
